A device is wiped by restoring it to its factory settings. All your personal data, files on the device, and apps you have installed will be deleted in the process.
Before wiping the device, we recommend backing up important files, for example to a cloud service or transferring them to a new device (Android, iCloud). Also remember to remove SIM and memory cards from the device if you are giving it away.
The method for wiping a device varies slightly depending on its operating system and version, but the principle is the same and menu naming generally follows the same pattern. If you cannot find where to wipe the device or restore factory settings, it is advisable to check with the manufacturer's support service.
