The Find My / Find My...? feature must be disabled on all Apple devices before sending the device for repair. The feature can be disabled directly on the device or via your iCloud account. If the device no longer starts, disable the feature in iCloud.
Below are instructions for disabling the feature on different devices.
iPhone, iPad, iPad Touch
- Open Settings
- Tap the picture and your name at the top
- Tap Find My
- Tap Find My *device* at the top
- Disable the Find My feature by tapping the toggle switch.
Mac
- Open the Apple menu and click System Preferences

macOS 10.15 or later versions: Click Apple ID -> iCloud -> uncheck Find My Mac. Enter your Apple ID password and click Continue
or
macOS 10.14 and earlier: Click iCloud -> uncheck Find My Mac. Enter your Apple ID password and click Continue
Apple Watch
- Press and hold the side button on the watch until the sliders appear
- Slide the Power Off slider to the right
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap My Watch, and tap your Apple Watch at the top of the screen
- Tap the info button (i), then Unpair Apple Watch
- Go to iCloud.com, click Find iPhone -> All Devices and select Apple Watch
- Click Remove from Account.
