How does recycling work? Do I need to bring the old appliance to the store?

There are two options for recycling your old appliance:

1. Bring the old appliance yourself to the store or to the Vantaa pickup warehouse. In this case, the recycling service is free of charge.
2. Order the recycling service for your old appliance together with home delivery of the new appliance you purchased. The old appliance will be taken away when the new appliance is delivered. The appliance to be recycled must be of the same type as the new one. The recycling service is subject to a fee. 

The following appliances can be picked up for recycling: dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, stove, cooktop, microwave oven, oven, television, air source heat pump and refrigeration appliances. Small electrical appliances are not picked up from home. They must be brought to us for recycling. 

Please note that the appliance to be recycled must be located at the same address where the new appliance is delivered. 

Is there a fee for recycling?

The price of recycling depends on the recycling service you choose. Recycling is free of charge when you bring the old appliance yourself to a store or to the Vantaa pickup warehouse. Recycling is subject to a fee if you want your old device to be collected when your new device is delivered.  

You can also order recycling and other additional services for small products when using Fetch’s 3-hour express delivery or same-day home delivery. Additional services are paid to Fetch through Klarna.

Is disconnecting the old appliance included in the recycling service? 

No, it is not. If you only order the recycling service with home delivery of the new appliance, the driver will not disconnect the old appliance. In this case, you must make sure that the old appliance has been disconnected from all fixings and connections and moved close to the front door, where it can be picked up without obstruction.

If you order both recycling of the old appliance and installation of the new appliance, disconnection of the old appliance is included. 

Please note that you must not disconnect a stove or cooktop connected to mains electricity yourself. The disconnection may only be carried out by a professional, so make sure the appliance has been properly disconnected before recycling if you do not order our stove or cooktop installation service. 

How many appliances can I recycle when I purchase the recycling service?

The recycling service includes recycling of one appliance equivalent to the appliance being delivered. If you want to recycle several appliances, you must purchase the recycling service for each appliance separately. You can recycle as many appliances as there are new equivalent appliances being delivered, with a maximum of four appliances per order. 

What devices can I recycle at Verkkokauppa stores and pickup warehouse?

You can bring us discarded electrical and electronic equipment (SER) for recycling. For example, household appliances, televisions and computers are recyclable devices. We also accept batteries, printer ink cartridges, LED lamps and fluorescent lamps. Read more here.

Which appliances can be installed and recycled with home delivery? 

You can order installation and recycling as an additional service for the following appliances when the new appliance is delivered to your home: dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, stove, cooktop, refrigeration appliance, microwave oven, oven, television and air source heat pump. Installation and recycling services for side-by-side refrigeration appliances are only available in the Helsinki metropolitan area through Hakonen. 

Please note that the installation and recycling service can only be ordered together with home delivery of a new appliance. 

Can a washer-dryer stack be recycled?

Yes. You can order recycling service for your washer-dryer stack when purchasing a new one.
